I was wondering what the possability of people wanting to do a cruise for a cause kind of thing. Like everyone who comes gives $10 and we donate all the money to like the Red foundation or some fund. Just a thought, see what the interest would be.

I would like to do something like that too. I did all kinds of fundraising and philanthropy work during college and found it cool. If you want to put something together to present to the club, I am sure most people will work with you!

I found some information out this weekend, and I think we might be able to do something to support one of our members. I will respect his privacy, but I think he'll know I'm talking about him. Shoot me a PM to discuss.

Always better donating to a charity or organization... not a specific person.

Yea, I would prefer to do a charity of some sort. I'm gonna look into the Red Campaign and some other ones and post some info on what I get to see what peoples thoughts are.

I'm sorry if I wasn't specific, but I was intending that we support a particular charity that would have an impact on a member here.

Sorry for the long delay. Been busy with the holiday weekend. Right now i'm currently waiting on a response about two different charities to figure out which one would be better. Once I get info for both I'll give more info.
Also, i'd like to soon try and go out driving to potentially map out a route for a cruise Maybe up the coast or something? Just not sure if people are bored of doing the Kang so I thought i'd try and do something different. If people are fine with jsut driving the kang then we can just do that.

Well after trying to get an e-mail back I gave up on the red foundation people. I have a feeling most of you have heard of this one though, the Cam Neely Foundation. Its actually kind of local as I believe its based in Boston. Its a charity for Cancer research as well as helping people/families dealing with it. Here is a link as I would like everyone to be happy with where their money is going http://www.camneelyfoundation.org/donation/index.php This is one I know i'm happy with.
Also, I am hoping to make a trip or 2 to hand map a cruise route. With the awesome weather we've been having I can't help but want to be near the beach so I am thinking a coastal ride. Some nice pics of the cars along the beach. If anyone would care to join me on the ride to make a map they are more than welcome.
I'd like to know peoples ideas or comments as I have never done something like this before so constructive criticism is welcomed.
I'm also thinking mid august for this, mostly cause i'm kind of busy the rest of July.

Depending on the size of this, you are going to need until Mid August just to get it ready. If you want some help with organization, I will aid, but cant put much time in due to the business. I will give you whatever advice or minor help I can give, I have a lot of experience setting up philanthropy events and fundraisers!

You should post this up on nasioc, and maby some others, would be awsome if we could get a huge turnout for this.
Also +1 for the cancer cause, I would of said talk to the lance armstrong foundation but that one gets alot of donations as it is a smaller one would might be better. Also if you want to broden this to all cars my friend might be able to make us up a poster then print out a bunch, he does all the posters for OSG paintball, and BOLP paintball.
