Ya, I sorta wanted the BBS's (more because they are lighter then how they look) but I decided if I go down that road I'll just pick up a set of RPF-1s

Heh yup, funny part is the Brembo is the same caliper as used on the z too ;)

I kinda miss the gold ones, but the stealthier black isn't half bad either.

Sprayed the tails yesterday ... looks a little odd cause they are the only clean part of the car ....

you should also blackout the light gray part on the grill it would make the pin striping standout that much more

tails look waaaay better. Ive been meaning to do mine with the reverse light cut out but im laaaaaazy....maybe after christmas we'll see... Lovin the red pin strip on the front.

I plan on eventually getting the fogs, which should balance that out, and a good wash will do it wonders :)

i love you for those tail lights, i've always told my friends i would paint the tails red on my lexus is300--that i've never owned.

what did you use to paint the tails? And for prep work? They look super smooth and even. Nicely done!

edit: found ya on IWSTI. Krylon Stained glass paint, no clear ;) looks great. My local home depot kicks ass. Going to see if they have this in stock, maybe do black instead...

any thought in doing the 3rd brake light? Everything else back there is red.. :(

Ya, I would really love to. It's only a hundred more a month than my 06 WRX. Only thing is, what I have the car built to now is a little better than an STi, however, I hate the interior of my car compared to the 08, and its a better overall platform to start on. It would be tough for me to do unless unloading the 06 first.

Insurance goes down with most folks on the new sti ... they classify is as a wagon :D Plus with 0%, it's a win win, at least it was for me.

i wouldnt go about trading in a car just because its interior is better than yours. thats just stupid, unless you really arent happy with your car and you can afford the change without a problem.

And I also stripped and repainted my tails (I can see backing up now yay!)

First step took thinner and a scotch pad to the lights to re-clear the reverse section, looks good at a distance, but in the taping photo you can see how non-exact and light it was.

Taping off the reverse section, those round bits took a bit to get right, but with a little patience was able to get them rounded off nicely.

Looks a lot better. You just need some wetsanding action on the tails now. :D

I am really digging the new tails and the black BBS's....the new STI wheels are nice too, but they look so 'chunky'

so, i've been thinking of completely reding out my tails similar to that on my 09 sedan. any issues with the reverse lights or did tape them out?

I had them all reded out out, couldn't see for crap backing up at night, which is why I re-did them
