The next tC should hit the market in late 2010 or early 2011 and will be Scion’s first rear-wheel drive model. Subaru’s version of the sport coupe will offer an optional all-wheel drive system and a turbocharged (http://www.leftlanenews.com/toyotasubaru-coupe-could-surface-in-us-as-next-scion-tc.html#) engine good for about 300 horsepower, but look for the tC to do with just the base car’s 2.0L Boxer-four – producing about 200 horsepower – in order to keep in line with Scion’s value pricing.
since when does Subaru offer optional AWD?

I don't get why some Subaru owners are so hell bent on AWD being superior. Especially the Subaru AWD system. Lets get it out there. It is a working design but really? Why does a heavier car made by Mitsu with less horsepower beat the mighty STi? Could it possibly be that giant hunk of alumnium hanging out in front of the axles?

AWD is a very nice thing to have in our area, seeing as we have all four seasons. RWD is historically better for racing and sporty on road driving. AWD is far superior for off road rallying, which is the intended original purpose of subaru. Its more of what you desire as a car, and what you are going to be putting the vehicle to use for. There is no TRUE this is better than that, its all what YOU, the driver wants.

I was under the impression that the STi beat the EVO X in every statistical category except for slalom and the road course....and that was due to the softer suspension setup in the stock STi...which can be very quickly remedied for only a few hundred dollars.
These have been the results in all of the comparos that I have read and watched.

Here is just a quick one I looked up. I have only looked up this one now and read one a while ago and these people are choosing the EVO over the STI. You can't start talking about well if I spend a little money here and mod this my car will then beat it.
And to what Terry said. He is correct but Subaru is no longer winning **** off the roads. They are in a Very distant third last time I checked. I Love Subaru and all but they are not doing so well as time progresses.
And of course like Terry said it all is about application of your car and what it is Suited to. WRX STi is a rally car. What would you guess the percentage is of them being driven like they are meant to be driven, ie non tarmac racing to them being raced on tarmac only?
Oh well none of it matters anyway.
