Dead? Works intermittantly? Mine too, until recently. Seems the '98 and newer dash/overhead clocks have been croaking pretty consistently.
Pull your clock out(CLOCK! Not...uh...) and remove the lens. You should see three resistors soldered to the circuit board, two labeled 300, one labeled 510. Seems Subaru used shat for solder for a while, and the 510 resistor is prone to overheating. On my clock, the 510 was hanging by a thread, and simply pushing it back into place would have it working again until I let go. From the pics I've seen, many of the solder joints tend to corrode until they look like cottage cheese, or simply crack, like mine. Break out your soldering iron and throw down some new beads on all resistors. It should work again.
