You could go with an aftermarket adjustable fpr and and adapter for the passenger side rail. But, you'd need a way to set the base fuel pressure (ie gauge on the fpr).

Go all out on a nice quality RRFPR, rails, and SS lines? Just make your own lines and Zero Drift on RS25 has started making rails. $135 for a pair of rails. That's likely what I'm going with for rails, use the SARD RRFPR I have, and make my own lines.

I think he's trying to keep the costs down, hence the use of oem rails. :dunno:

You can also get a set of bnib Aeromotive rails on ebay for $159. But the lines and the fittings to set it up is where it gets really expensive.

Still unsure of rail setup, may wait and see what tax money brings...

only things needed to get car tuned are injectors, gaskets and rails I believe. May still get an accessport...

Seraphinwolf
01-23-2012, 09:08 PM
Accessport equals speed density tuning provided there is a MAP to read from.

Shiux
01-23-2012, 09:11 PM
Only NOOBS have accessports!

but seriously, I was always under the impression that it was a waste of money, as you are going to end up going to a shop at some point anyways... right?

Seraphinwolf
01-23-2012, 09:17 PM
Accessport cost same in the long run and you can store ad change multiple maps. If you need a new touch up tune you can just log and hand the files to your tuner and they can email back a refreshed tune. Also there are handy little things of having the AP like locking out the car from starting without it or pulling codes and doing other logging.

yaya
01-23-2012, 09:30 PM

Not on a 16 bit ecu. 06+ WRX.

98Wagoon
01-23-2012, 09:30 PM
The idea of sending off a map for a "refreshed update" without the tuner getting to physically see hear and feel how the car is running, along with actually looking at all the tables/afr/etc that he's logging right then and there, not last week when you took the log for him makes me feel much safer with a proper protune than an AP. If you need to pull/clear codes and want to see stupid things like intake temps etc etc get a scangauge. If yr that worried about immobilizers in the car for the crims and baddies then get a Turbo timer that immobilizes and has a code like the one my brothe had in his wrx.

Nope. There should be plenty of basemaps floating around to get you started. I got a chance to hop in on a dyno tuning session and get a short crash course last week at the shop. All the adjustments we made was pointed out that if we were open sourcing the tune every adjustment would need to completely go through reflash process with the ECU. I'm really sold on the idea of AP's with tuning.

+1 on AP way of tuning. Been around to see both ways get done I would get a reflash process for something basic and planed on keeping it that way for a while.

Thanks! I'm happy with it, you can't even tell they were there.

Now the whole car needs a wax and also a cleaning in the interior... It's bad...

Still searching fuel rail options, there aren't many out there. Also I'm still unsure of which injectors to go with. I came across a chart by DW that said my injectors should flow for 280hp but I'd feel more comfortable with atleast 650cc for room to grow.

Those are the last two bit that I can think of for my setup to be complete.

Berge56
02-06-2012, 09:59 AM
I had helix 660's when I ran it on my 2.0. I don't remember what my injector duty cycle was but I would get 650's or 750's if it were me.

RCKSTR

Pete said I'd be fine with oem rails but I'm still considering aftermarket for looks... :hide:

I've decided on 750cc injectors so I've got room to grow if I upgrade the turbo down the road... :hide:

Since I took the skirts off for my new parts I decided to move on with a few other things...

during:

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g297/sh8kspeer/1333857655.jpg

mounted!!!

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g297/sh8kspeer/1333857702.jpg

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g297/sh8kspeer/1333857704.jpg

pipes...

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g297/sh8kspeer/1333857706.jpg

and done.

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g297/sh8kspeer/1333857708.jpg

issues I had were few, broke a fender bolt, had issues mounting the beam/core but finally did it, my air filter was too big so I had to use the old one that came with the intake (temp fix...), and I think thats about it. pipes are kinda snug so I'll have to adjust them but all in all I'm very happy :)
