The pics from the canoe were taken yesterday from a scanoe with a 3.3 hp outboard on it. That thing was almost as fun as the RC boat!

That thing is badass. How fast does it go?

Jon

I got it from an online hobby store last summer. It's really a sweet little thing. I'd say it probably goes about 20 right now but with some 7 cell battery packs, it'll go about 25+. I just went to go use it and saw that i stripped a gear in the drive system so it's out of commision for a week or two while i hunt down some more spare gears. That last pic when it was on the rock, it hit the prop and thats when it ate the gear up.

It was funny, but scary when i flipped over in the rapids, me and my buddy were running down the river chasing it hopeing it would get close enough to shore for one of us to grab it. He stuck his leg out and hit it which flipped it over so i got control of it again and brought it back to shore. It was full of water and ready to sink when i got it back.

That'll give you an idea of the price ranges. I paid 280 for mine last year but it can be had now for 250.

I was using it down at New Castle Common yesterday and was jumping waves near the rocks. Well, long story short, a big wave came and swallowed it. We didn't see it till it washed up on the beach. It was full of sand and salt water. The best part was, we got it all on tape. I'll post it up when i get it on my computer.

Needs bigger motors!

Jon
05-22-2007, 02:37 PM
I'm going to pick up some 19T motors soon. It should pick up a couple MPH with those.

Cool pics. My uncle used to have a 5 foot RC boat with a chainsaw motor in it. That thing would rip. It would go like 60mph.

The vid of that thing is sweet; way faster than I thought it'd be. I think it'd take me longer to take it out of the box than it would to crash and sink it.

Jon
07-21-2007, 07:44 PM

Jon

Terry, you told me once what you had fro RCs but i forget. What do you have again?

TrickyDik
07-22-2007, 09:15 AM
If you need a nice big driveway that was just recently seal-coated to run that tc3 of yours just come down to my place sometime.

Nate8409
07-22-2007, 11:27 AM
I have two Kyosho ones. A big ass truck with double shocks and a Subaru WRC Bugeye style. I could borrow some battery pack. I was going to try to wire a car battery in but have to gotten around to it yet.

If I had the battery packs I would come down proxy. The truck has a pull start but I have yet to get it to run. The Subaru runs fine but the pull cord is broken so I have to use the start box.

I got a lot of ****. Prolly around 50 planes, two cars, and a helicopter. We have about 18 transmitters, 25-30 gas motors, 20ish electric, tons of recievers. All kinds of odds and ends.

TrickyDik
07-22-2007, 12:54 PM
Dam, trying to start your own hobby shop? You should let me fly one of those planes sometime, never flown one and was always interested in them.

Do I hear a RC party in the near future? haha.

Nate8409
07-22-2007, 01:15 PM
Wow. Next time I am over you got to show me that stuff. Bust out the helicopter!

04silvrrex
07-23-2007, 09:49 AM
When I was into (spending all that money on them) rcs I always wanted a chopper but I didn't want to pay the repair bills... Planes or choppers would be awesome. Everyone should get together and have a RC day? I'd like to check em out. John I have a perfect pit behind my house for the revo... I used to take the T-maxx out their and If that can tear the pit up.. the revo will own it. have fun guys

Jon
07-23-2007, 03:32 PM
Yea, an RC meet would be awesome!! The revo is out of commission for a couple of days, she did a nice endo braking yesterday and broke the motor mount and tweaked the chassis. I fixed the tweak but now just need to pick up or order a new mount from maximus tomorrow.

Terry, you should bring a couple of planes down here. I have a nice area in Rye to use them. It's Rye airfield, a nice open area that you to be an air port. I've always wanted to fly a plane. And why they hell do you have SOOOO many RCs?? i thought i had a lot with 3 that total over a grand. but you got me beat by A LOT!! haha. I'd love to take a look at everything you have sometime.

Sure, my old man has been into them since they came out like 30 years ago or whatever. Hes collected them for a long time, taught me how to fly and build, and has had many given to him. A lot of people asked him to build a plane for him, he would, then theyd decide they didnt want them, so my dad would just keep it or offer them a small amount of cash for em. I have a huge, raised field across the street from my house that we fly out of. Someday well have a bash, my old man will love it. Its not easy by any means to fly an airplane, and helis are about 100 times harder, ive tried one once, and crashed. Im nervous with helis, planes take some getting used to, but im sure as **** rusty now. Its been about 4 years since ive flown. It was an everyday event growing up, however.

07-23-2007, 04:39 PM
Thats awesome...I gotta get me another rc....I would be down for a rc meet....Maybe i'll have to get back into it....rc truck or plane??hmmmm:cool:

Jon
07-23-2007, 07:41 PM
Terry, we'll have to get together soon and fly some planes around. Maybe by then i'll have a cheapy to learn on. My dad is just like, "that just cost you over one months payment on your car, what a waste!" He just doesn't understand i guess.

Boston, get a truck!! they kick ass! My next purchase will be a plane. Just some cheap thing to get me started. I've never really even looked into them, but have always wanted one.

04silvrrex
07-24-2007, 10:31 AM
I should, The last truck i had was about 6 months ago... I had the t-max but I wanted the revo.. did you get yours at hobbytown?, I'll look into it in the next couple weeks.

Jon
07-24-2007, 11:00 AM
I got mine from maximus RC in York, ME. I got it for 500 with a gallon of 33% nitro fuel. They don't have anymore in stock but they do have a t-maxx 2.5 in the store. When i get a new motor mount, i'll bring it over and we can rip up that pit you were talking about.

04silvrrex
07-24-2007, 11:37 AM
Awesome.. the pit is pretty descent, We'll take turns.... I'll bring the Can-Am and you bring the revo42

Jon
07-24-2007, 06:41 PM
Well i was happily suprised to find all the parts that i needed to fix up the revo in stock at maximus this afternoon! It's all back together and i'm going to take it out for a little bit, that is, if it'll run!!

04silvrrex
07-24-2007, 11:13 PM
I've never used or had to work with a more finicky motor... diff temp diff setting...diff humidity diff setting... they are a pain in the a$$, but when they run right its worth all the headache~toytruck.gif~
