I have to go back to work tomorrow and this totally sucks. I've been on leave from work since April 15th. Normally I wouldn't take time off during this time of the year but I hadn't had anything more then a day or two off from work since I moved back up here from Washington D.C. this past October.

It was a good vacation. I went down south to the Atlanta Georgia area to visit my family. While down there I ate more food then I care to admit. I was able to spend almost all 5 days down there playing with my 18 month old nephew. Went out with my brother-in-law and father to play 2 rounds of golf. Enjoyed the 80+ degree weather.

The other days up here I spent cleaning up my apartment, doing some much needed organizing and hung out with some friends while celebrating my 23rd birthday.

Overall it wasn't bad. But now it will be all over when my alarm clock goes off at about 4:15am tomorrow morning (May 2nd). Then my hell comes back and in full force for the month of May. I wish I was smarter and do incredible investments or whatever that allowed me to live off the interest. Not that I can quit my job seeing as the Military frowns upon early termination.

As of tomorrow, I officially go back to work. As of tomorrow, I officially have exactly 1 year and 6 months left on my enlistment. Then I too will probably move down south to the Georgia/Florida area.

Sorry for the long post, but I don't write in journals or blogs or anything and felt I needed to express my sorrow of going back to work and my joy of realizing it's only 1.5 years more.

Nice, another person who likes FL, one day I'll move down there too, east coast of FL.

I feel your pain. I will have a couple of vacations this summer, which I am looking forward to -- haven't had any vacation since last summer.

Yea Vlad, I wasn't a huge fan too long ago about being down South. But this last visit has really got me thinking the complete opposite. I'd miss being up here and there are some strange customs down there but overall I think it would be a better living condition for me. Cheaper to live (my parents 2 bedroom house cost them $100k), salary for me would be roughly the same if I worked Law Enforcement up here as opposed to down there, much more job oppurtunities for me for Police, faster promotion. But there is a ton more crime of course, but hey that's just keeping me in a job any way.

I'll have to research where I'll end up but I'd like to live in a metro area. Something near water would be a plus.

We'll see. Maybe we'll end up in the same area!

If I were to choose a metro area, I'd probably go with Daytona or West Palm.

For some reason I am not too crazy about Orlando. I do like Miami Beach area :) But I'd need a real good job to live there comfortably. Who knows man who knows. One day. If my job allowed me to telecommute, I'd be there already.

I'd start with where I lived before -- Cocoa Beach,FL. Then I'd start seriously thinking about moving to a more populated area.

Yeah, I need a vacation bad... I am starting to get burnt out, too many projects on my plate right now... I get 5 weeks of vacation, I just need to find sometime to fit it in. Thought I had a week lined up in June to go to Florida to visit some people, nope, HUGE implementation that week. fock.

All I do every day while I sit here is think of ways viable ways to create passive cashflow.

Long weekend this weekend.

Only vakay trip I see this year is a week on the island of Vieques in PR in Sept. I lived down there for almost 4 years so still have quite a few friends down there. Took my wife there for our honeymoon and we'll be there this year on our 2nd anniversary. I cannot wait to go home.

Other than that is a hot and fast trip to Pittsburgh for a wedding in June.

Any other time off will be long weekends to close places (hopefully a track day in NY) or days off in Porchview, NH doing stuff around the house.

You gotta pay for that car somehow, right? I'd be in a world of crap right now if I lost my job... $2800 a month in expenses owns me (that does not include spending money for gas, food, boozin, or anything else I want to buy).

Haha! I'm closer to $4000 a month before food and diapers, and I still live in a bad apartment.:) Credit card interest rates FTL.

I've got something around $1,500-$1,600 for bills every month. That's also before Gas, Food, and Fun.

Damn man... gotta make some bank to do that. ~bowdown~ Yes, I saw the credit card part.. but you can't pay rent and all that junk on a card.

Man, maybe I need a new job.. I am not being compensated enough for my time... ~sneaky~
