My boss asked us if we know anyone that works at a Game Stop kinda place. Apparently her kids' Xbox 360 has a funky laser problem where it will ruin a disc of the console is tilted. And apparently it can be fixed, but some shops are expen$ive. Does this sound familiar? Is this an easy fix?
An electronics question: Eugene's radar just alerted. :)
<-- only knows that Xbox has bollocks for driving games.

what i do is when i am my last try to hack the code i usually just quit out of the computer and then reload it.
No one likes a room or safe they can't break into cause the damn computer locked :unamused:

I knew Eugene would know!
Thanks for the feedback. It ain't my Xbox, I'll pass it along. You won't be surprised to know that the users are teenage boys, more than likely they tilted it while it was reading.

Yup just click three times and then back out and go back in. That is what I always do.
I have not bobby pins left anymore which sucks. The same trick goes with those too. Try it a couple time then back out and go back in. Sucks having no bobby pins when you have 100% skill.

ALSO, You don't need those unlocking tools to get the box open. Just a little time and finesse. I have opened three xboxs to repair rings or death.

shake it?
Wtf?
dude it would be in pieces if you did that
damn xbox's that their downside on the 360s.. is they are so fragile. If shake it a bunch everything inside would probably just free float from there on out.
Friggin microsoft did not use their head and thought "hey we got a good console... why don't we also make it so it can hold itself together too... instead of making it seem like its held together by hopes and dreams"

I don't know but to me moving an xbox, ps3, computer etc while there is a disk in it is just crazy. A laptop I understand but these other things that are not meant to be moved unless turned off.

exactly...
laptops were ment to be moved around which is why they made everything so tightly packed and such so it all holds it self together. but in a way has a downside cause they heat up real fast..
Also portable dvd players as well.
The only thing i question for a regular dvd player or console is for those that install them in their cars.
Dvd players we obviously got head units designed for this of course. But what about when we got lil timmy in the back seat bored out of his mind and wants to play xbox 360 from the over head display or head rest display?
Ya know what i mean.

i move my 360 around all the time, it works great. The plastic thing you hear moving inside the unit is the vertical/horizonal positioning sensor, lets the 360 know how its mounted so the controller lights always remain 1st player in top left 2nd player top right...
