Hey, i just bought a indivia v2 dp and wondering if i should heat wrap it? and will my old heat shield work with it?

i dont beleive the wrap is necessary, normally just the header and up are wrapped. In theory wrapping the DP would keep more heat out of the engine bay, but is less important as its post turbo. The heat shield should work with modifications and patience. The heat shields suck to deal with if you havent removed them before, rust sucks and prevented me from getting the shields off without completely destroying them. GoodLuck!

Yeah I've taken it off before but he said it was junk but it went back on so I don't know, I was thinking of getting a cobb heat shield but if the old one works I rather use that

Dont get the cobb, you can easily rebend the stock shield to fit. Hell, im not even running a heatshield.

I was wondering this aswell, I need to wrap my fuel lines before I get ahead of myself with everything else.

I know Advanced Auto on Route 1 in Portsmouth next to Burger King sells it in 2 different widths. I think it's 48 bucks for a roll, they also have the spray for it too

They even sell DEI which is pretty good stuff. I recommend wrapping your dp. And just trim off the rear of the heat shield to make it fit.

I use ceramic exhaust paint on my dp and cat back, but heat wrap isn't going to do much on the dp. It's a good idea on the up and header to keep some of the head away from the passenger side head though. :)

a reply to an old thread.

I found all arguments but keeping the intercooler (top mount) from heatsoak the reality. if you have front mount? who cares about wrap yet again.
the "increasing flow" with heat wrap as sales pitch is a crock..it only may sound increased cuz the exhaust buggers are really moving at a very expanded non-cooled rate. :unamused:
(I was going to weld in custom heat wrap- absolutely ridiculous)

I also found when it is wrapped like oem.. a monster lurks within

since we are going to post here, i might add.

High temp krinkle paint does wonders on headers. WHen i took mine off the GC just over a year of use, the paint still looked good and i saw lots of scratches where debris hit it.

i ended up removing the heat wrap after it soaked some oil and smelled horribly when it was hot.

wraping the dp will trap heat in the pipe and usually voids the warranty.
