I'm an audio idiot, and don't care to learn about it all that much. Just not my thing, yet I like to have an audio system that is clean and doesn't give me any crappy sound.
In that regard I'm thinking about upgrading my stock speakers in my 2007 WRX at some point since stock speakers in every car I've ever owned suck, uncluding this one.
I know the '07 is supposed to be a 6 speaker system but other then the 2 in the front doors and 2 in the rear doors. Not sure where the other 2 are, or if the even exist  .
Basicly I just want some replacement speakers, simple and cost-effecient. Something that can handle some bass without blowing up. Something that works well with the stock head unit.
Recommend me some replacements that should be available this fall when I will probably do some audio work. Thanks.
-Your friendly neighborhood audio fool!
When you get new ones, i'll geive you 5 bucks for one of your fronts. One of mine has been blown since i bought the car 3 years ago.

There are 4 in the front door. Seperate tweeters. Before you replace the speakers replace the deck or get something with an external system seperate from the deck.
The stock speakers sound pretty crappy overall but a different deck made them sound way better. That could be enough for you.

I like my deck though. If I were going with a new deck then I'd be getting a DVD/Nav unit and I don't want to spend that kind of money on "ice" yet. I'd rather get other things up to par first. Speakers are cheap enough to do and I really think that a new deck before new speakers would be just as limiting.

i have JL VRs that i could sell you cheap... ill have to see what size u have on ur car
otherwise, i can get you a great deal on some new CDTs if u want new speakers. IMO, speakers should be the last thing u do, after HU and sub cuz u might not even hear th e difference with a stock hU

Well I'm pretty sure one (or possibly 2) of my speakers aren't fully blown yet but they certainly don't sound good. I've never had luck with stock speakers. Sound improvement I'm not really concerned about. Making sure my speakers can handle what the stock HU puts out is a plus.

That sounds french to me...or in other words...what?

Cleansweep acts as a DSP for your stock HU, so it does not replace the HU itself, just takes over as the brain...
it makes alot more sense when you look at it. ill show u next time

that does sound pretty cool, I'm looking to get a better audio system going for my car too, but I would definitely like to keep my stock HU until I can really put in a DVD/NAVI unit somewhere down the road

sounds 100x better than stock. its not cheap though esp since u have to buy amps if u want it. you can check it out some time if u want.

nice. maybe i can make it to a weekly dinner meet one of these times and check it out, i'm not worried about having to buy amps because i would probably buy one if i bought an aftermarket HU anyway to run it off of with upgraded speakers in the doors
