Not much for now. Picking up the SPT Exhaust for starters. I plan to keep the warranty intact for at least a little while.
The rims are getting replaced soon as well so I can put snow tires on the OEM wheels. I think I've told a few people my plan for wheels, but I'll just wait for the pictures to do the talking when I get them.

I had the SPT on the spec.B and it was so quiet i could barely hear it!

Yeah, the WRX IC is much smaller.
I went with the SPT for several reasons:
1) It's quiet. I wouldn't mind it a little louder, but the 5-0 might disagree.
2) It's a factory part, so I have something I can say to the police if they do stop me.
3) I got a decent price since I bought it with the car.

True. It's unlikely that a cat-back would be a warranty void, but it does add some peace of mind. :)
And yes, it's broken in. Geoff, I will probably enlist you in the next couple days to be camera man for my exhaust.

Impressions?
Pulski
08-01-2009, 11:23 AM
It's quick. Spool is a little slow due to the STi sized turbo, but when it kicks in it really gets moving. My old wagon was stage 2 and I feel like this is at least as quick. I'm loving the extra torque off boost from the 2.5. The SPT exhaust is still very restrained at high rpm but definitely has a nice tone to it.
The handling is very good for being completely stock. It could benefit from larger sway bars, but the stock setup is very good overall. It can be a little scary on inital turn in because of the sways and stock ride height, but the car will go where you tell it to. The tires also help, since they replaced them with the Dunlop Sport 01. Great in the rain and dry tarmac, but I think they'll be useless in the snow and I haven't tried dirt yet. I haven't really attacked any of my favorite roads yet, but now that I don't have to worry about my revs, that will probably happen soon.
The interior is much more comfortable than in past models. The seats are still bolstered, but not as severely, which is nice for a man of my stature. I haven't sat in the back myself, but I'm told there's plenty of room, even sitting behind me. (6'-6',1"ish) Another nice change is that the rear seats fold flat without removing the rear head rests which was not possible in my 04 and my seating position.
Overall I'm very happy with it and stand by my decision to trade up 100%.

If you've somehow invented a way to get baseline numbers on a car with an exhaust installed and an aftermarket solenoid that'll make things go pop if it's attached, I'd love to see it.
Like I said, the butt dyno tells me I got some pretty good gains, so I'm happy. :) I'll find someone to dyno a stock 09 next to mine someday.
