Got my oil changed last night and now I'm running full synthetic, Royal Purple 5w30. Just wondering what people are running, and if there was any suggestions on oils that you've used.

Mobil 1 5w30 full synthetic in my 2.5. Good improvement over the chain-store Pennzoil dino and Valvoline synthetic blends that I was using before. Better throttle resonse and gas mileage, too.

I'll only use royal purple in my car now. Mobil 1 sucks. It might be good for other cars, but my car drank that stuff. every 1000 miles i was down almost a quart. I went 5000 on RP and only was down half a quart. The engine sounds much better with RP too, especially on cold starts. RP #1!!

Obviously, Mobil 1 isn't as hot **** as Royal Purple, but I wouldn't say it sucks... it's not great for everyone, but it's certainly good for a those who can't afford a $35-50 oil change.

My next oil change I am planning on trying royal purple. Mobil one has been great for a long time now but it is time to try something new.

Then sometime later I will try redline. That stuff is mad money but sounds like it is even better to Royal.

I love how the car feels running Royal. I was thinking of using AMS, but man.

last time i checked oil changes are covered under general maintenance? but i could be wrong because you do get a performance gain out of it?

i use mobil one clean 5000, 5w3.

Just ran some Seafoam through her and switched from Mobil 1 to Royal Purple. Hopefully RP is as good as everyone says.

Good call changing you oil after seafoam. That **** is leaves a lot of crap in the oil.

I just changed the rp I had in my car 4200 miles only burnt up 1/2 a quart.
I love this stuff I should have used it a while ago in my old 04 wrx.
the mobil 1 and amsoil burnt up real quick for some reason in my sti and wrx.

the price isn't that bad 6.99 a quart at pepboys

one thing is the oem oil filter is way better then all the other brands.
I saw the thread on Iwsti or nasioc some guy cut all the filters apart and compared the filter media and all that good stuff. the oem filter beat all the other by quite a bit.

I don't know what it is with our cars burning oil but I am not in that group. I swear that mine never burns any.

mine burned before it crashed, not terribly though, about 1/2 quart per 5K miles using mobil 1
