So, I might be doing some preventative repair on my RS, the head gaskets. I want to spice it up a little bit. I've heard I can use STI head gaskets on the RS. The STI gaskets are thinner, so I'll get higher compression from it.
Can anyone confirm this, and does anyone know which STI gaskets I need?
Thanks

Subaru will replace your head gaskets for free if you bring it into the dealership under 100K miles.

The 2000 RS has faulty head gaskets Subaru will replace them for nothing no matter what if u can get it in there before 100K

Id try anyways u never know...If they've lasted this long that's a good sign mine didn't make it to 100K

I believe it's an 8yr./100k warranty (whichever comes first,) which means it's pretty much over for our cars at this point.
That said, I had mine covered in June '07 with 92k on my car and a production date of August (edit: or was it October? whatever) '99. Booyah! :D

Any more info on the HG's anyways? Also if they will fit on EJ22EZ? I"ll have a few to be getting built soon enough. This can be part of the build up and learning experiences. Would love to get 257 crank and rods. Apparently those in combo with EJ22EZ will stroke it and nicely so. Also head 257 block with everything else off the 2.2L will yeild high compression build.

I found out the EJ257 headgaskets work fine on the EJ25. A couple people of RS25 are running them fine.
