But the way in which that tractive force is delivered to the front wheels has been finessed. Mazda's torque management system, which trims engine output in the three lower gears dependent on steering angle, has been recalibrated to reduce wheel fight at full throttle even more than before

Dude, its got some matrix styling cue's. I think it looks better with the grille area painted for sure, but it does look a little goofy, same as the 08-09 WRX hatches when I first saw them. Overall, I think it'll grow on me, plus that power in a cutesy hatch is awesome!

I would have to agree. Mazda put a lot of thought into this car by copying the STI fender flares and scoop. Maybe they did this to get back a Subaru for ripping off the Mazda 3 in the first place :lol:

exactly - STI is still way more BA

I really don't think it's that bad. The painted grill makes a world of difference. I still say the front end of the new Mazdas look like happy sharks

I like the ms3 for the most part. I HATE the new front bumper/grille though. Looks like a smiling goldfish or some **** coming down the road at you.

I completely agree. The gf has an 08 mazda 3 and it deffinetely doesn't seem up to par with the competition.

Maybe you haven't been in a Speed3, because the interior is easily on par with the 08-09 WRX interior, if not slightly better.

I can agree with you on the base Mazda3, it's boring an uninspired, but you're crazy if you think the MS3 has a crappy interior.

For the money you pay, the interior is world's better than any other car in its price range (MS3).

The only complaint that I have is that the panels for the radio and climate control rub and make a creaking noise. I haven't taken it apart yet though. I just roll down the windows and turn up the music.

Oh My. :( I'm not very amused. Cars seem to be getting uglier and uglier.

I liked the previous gen's styling. Same with the Mazda6.

What I don't understand is how they keep getting these fantastic ratings for the redesign. I get that everyone has their own opinion but god.

I would venture to guess it's because mostly women drive the base 3's, and they think the smile is "cute", whereas us that buy the MS3 for the performance don't want a car with balls to be mistaken for "cute".

The MS3 has TONS of interior accessories, including climate control, a full Bose audio system with 6 disk changer, AUX and sat capable, radio and cruise controls on the steering wheel, white needles and red gauges with blue backlight ambiance, full trip and mileage computer, aluminum pedals and dead pedal, leather trimmed everything, ambient lighting everywhere, glossy black plastic bezels for radio and door electronics, 4 cup holders in front, 2 in back...I'm sure I'm missing other stuff. The seats have felt-ish cloth inserts and leather bolsters with red stitching, as do the upper door panels.

It's a far cry from the base Mazda 3 as you can see.

My mom has it in her explorer and I've yet to figure out how to clean it.

Any tips?
