Nice - you beat me to it.

Time: 6:00pm until Sun down - Some of us may go out in Portsmouth/Dover or to someone elses house afterwards

Please reply if you are definitely coming.

I will collect money for hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, fixings (ketchup, tomato, etc), and Soda. Can anybody bring Potato/Pasta salad to save individual cost?

Plan on $8 per person. I will adjust downward if appropriate, I will not raise it from that.

In:
1. TurboRush
2. Proxy
3. Somethingpink
4. Bulldog
5. eb50 - Maybe
6. SteelWRX - Not eating
7. Nate
8. Jamie
9. Terry
10 Morbid + 1

As Amanda said, I'll be there, as long as tomorrows afternoon rain showers hold off...

I will be grabbing dinner before heading over, so I WILL NOT be having food at the BBQ.

I'll bring my camera and see if I can get some good shots of everyone's cars. Should be a nice setting as long as there aren't many people running around.

THe Evo is all packed up, I have 2 grills, cooler, charcoal, and some condiments courtesyof EB... so basically, short of a major storm, I am grilling something there tonight.

Yeah, they do... these will probably be used for backup in the event that:

A) They are really nasty
B) The grates don't come up fully, so if the charcoal doesn't light on its own I can't get the chimney starter in there.

Basically, I have some older charcoal that had lighter fluid on it, but when I tried to use them the other day they wouldn't light on their own so I had to use the chimney starter.

The only thing is there is going to be no underage drinking and we must keep the noise level down. The lady next door is a super ***** and if there are underage people drinking and to cops show up we are screwed.

nothing against haley or nick, but i am really quite shocked how strict your neighbors are about underage drinking. how can they possibly know who is underage and who is not, and why the hell do they care? 75% of the durham population drink underage every thursday friday and saturday nite, in doors and outdoors on peoples lawns. if a durham resident called to say there were people walking down the street with internal possesion wearing a backpack in the shape of a 30pack, cops would just laugh and hang up.

grow up america. 18 year olds are dying in iraq, who gives a sh1t if they are drinking in a safe place. this kind of stuff makes me sick to be an american citizen.

if a neighbor ever called the cops on me for underage drinking, i would be calling the cops every single time they had a guest over with the suspicion that they might be hosting an illegal drinking gathering. if u look under 30... u get carded right?

Iheartsubarus
06-22-2007, 05:53 PM
The only reason I said no underage drinking is because I would be the one "hosting" the BBQ because it is at my house.. and it is illegal for me to "host" a party with alcohol.. also my mom asked that no one underage drinks.

There is always a chance that something bad ill happen.. and me and my mom are going to be the ones that will be at fault if something happens.

Eugene my neighbors had nothing to do with the choice of no underage drinking at my place. I didn't want it because I'm liable for whatever happens. That's fine if you want to take the risk, but for me the consequences would be a little bit higher.

I agree with the whole idea of "if you're old enough to join the military then you're old enough to drink, smoke, play the lottery." In addition you can even call me a hypocrite because I too drank underage and the hosts knew about it.

But once again I point out the fact that 99% of the students at Durham or any other college can't lose as much as I do if something were to happen. Sure we have the same law against us, but I also lose my chance at the only career I've ever wanted to be involved in.

I only mentioned that my upstairs neighbor was a Kittery Cop so that people wouldn't come flying in and out in their cars. It had nothing to do with the drinking.

well as long as it was your choice based on your own concerns with liability, and not based on your neighbors opinions, i respect your decisions.

being liable is definitely a good reason to say no underage drinking. i guess in my experiences in america and for that matter korea and probably 15 other countries, i havent seen much liability held for providing alcohol to minors (i too drank underage, but never did anyone try to investigate who provided it to me). i completely understand if someone crashes their car on the way home, you would certainly be liable, but isnt that true for a 25 year old drunk driver as well as you are the one providing and hosting the alcoholic party?

time for me to brush on the laws...

Snowbrd125
06-23-2007, 10:10 AM
Nick knows better.. but he was saying in ME if you do BYOB you can not be held liable.. Jeff.. Mass is way different right? Im not sure about NH, but I know people that have been busted for having a party and people leaving drunk.. so I think in NH you are liable if you provide, or even host... i think.. I too need to brush up... Thanx everyone for yesterday. Cam loved the "race cars" lol and the monkey/tiger/dog thanks to Will! He fell asleep on the way home.. so the after party was great too!
