Im in bed still, bed still. A friend of mine made venison stir fry last night and we had burritos and watched taking Woodstock. I got home late and saw that somebody hadnt done something for work so after going to bed at 2 i had to get up at 6 and start making calls/write a report and get it out to a client of mine. Today the family went for a bike ride since it was over 50 degrees out. There were people out raking, playing and just enjoying the weather. The downstairs couple is quiet and help out, the upstairs renters are loud and useless.

Just configured my new linksys wireless N router. The directions don't even give you the default IP they want you to install all this BS software. Thankfully I was in an office full of people who do way more complex LAN setups than this so they helped me out. Got the default ip, set it all up and did WPA2 security so nobody else is getting on my Internet :spin:

However you can get a WAP that does 802.11n and 802.11g at the same time even a and b if you really needed it.

Most home WAP Router/waps that is draft n can broadcast 802.11g

:lol: the problem is networks and networking equiptment were originally designed by very smart people for people with lots of money and very "important" reasons to have things connected to each other. Now every ma, pa, shmo wants their own private network and it just isnt feasable to have on site people for every home installation so the companies that built themselves on very complex and high powered equiptment now all have to dumb down everything to try to make it so ma pa and shmo can figure it out.

For a lot of networking products they now have GUI's (graphic user interfaces) that are supposed to make things easier to work with, but the majority of engineers and technical people I know would rather do it command line like they always have. they have all these fancy options and questions which get you to the same place but take somebody experienced twice as long to do.


Parrallel parking... People did it for years, some better than others. Now cars are coming with systems that do it for you. Anybody that knows how to park a damn car wouldnt want the automated thing to park their car for you.

Buy log me in or something similar. Keep your work computer on 24/7 and remote in. Works like a charm. Or you could just put the VPN software on your home machine like I did and work that way :)
