July 8th NHIS Autocross

Well, the time has almost come to try out the T-Arrrrr at the track. Nate and I are racing as of yet I believe, and we are looking for some recruits. It's only 50 bucks and its an all day event. Anyone can race with any car, and its a blast. I live like 10 minutes from the track and anyone is welcome to stay at my place the night before or come early in the morning. Would be a great time if we got more people to come. Its free to go watch, you can be a track hand or just stand around, right on the track, its pretty rad. Come support your fellow SCSers at this event! ~ok~

I will promise I will go to snow rally x in the winter, then I can apply my knowledge finally.

I won't be making it. I'd come spectate/wrench monkey, but my sister, brother-in-law and 1 year old nephew are in the area from Georgia and thats the only day I'm free to see them. Don't see them as much as I'd like so I have to spend some time playing legos and running around the yard chasing my little nephew around.

Knoll, you should definetly race the car....dont be worried, it wont get hurt, and you wont look dumb. Its my first time racing too, and am going to go slow as hell my first run.

Screw it Terry. Your First run just rip on it as hard as you can. See where the car's limits are.

It is always fun to do that and you know the next run easily how to improve hte run.

When we go you just pick an even number for your car. I am an odd and can ride shotgun with you and you can ride shotgun with me since we will be going oppisites.

^i dont think they allow other riders to ride with you in scca sponsored events, the only peoples allowed to ride shotgun are trainers, atleast thats what i was told

Racing to me is like anything else. After you learn it well it's just like anything else. Racing against someone is always the most fun. Like Autocross when you set up two identical courses and race. That is awesome.

Rally and drifting are both amazing to me. You have to have rediculious car feel and control.

Ya, I like most types of racing as well. I am a lil nervous about sunday, but its just cause its new. I have raced motocross and sheeit growing up, but my quad didnt cost ME 20.5g's to buy and dreading the fact of a blown motor or something scares me. I have confidence in my driving ability yet Im sure everyone would feel a little nervous their first time.

I don't know why Nate says that Terry has to floor it. I would take it slow first lap to figure out the path as it's confusing with so many cones. Once you know the course then step on it.

I thought it was sick man. I had a ****in blast and for my first time I ran pretty good. Cant wait to get back out there for the rest of the season. Seriously, anyone that wants to do this and has any doubts, its nowhere near as hard as it seems. It just takes some skill and concentration. Smooth is fast. As far as I know, I got 11th and Nate got 10th out of 22 people in our class. It was my first time so im pumped!

Brian, what you want is winter rally cross. You don't really wanna put that thing in a gravel. In a gravel you'll just spray rocks all over your car. But if you decide to do it anyway I can lend you my mudflaps. I can't wait til winter rally cross, the least stress on the car.

Running junk tires to the limit is just as useful as running good tires are their limit. Each is learning. Autocross is good too. It is all about the tires. RE92's are garbage on all surfaces. So why wait for rally cross. Get some racing under the belt now with Autocross.
