Alright i want this to be a interactive thread.

Halloween is amongst us.
Where we like to be scared.
Where things go bump in the night

I did a thread about movies that scare ya senseless

Now i wanna go for the real thing. Cause as i stated before. Whats scarier then real life? Nothing

So the idea behind this i want everyone to share ghost stories that happen to them. or strange attractions or sites they been to around new england so some other user may wanna check it out for themselves.

New England is a very strange area. Lets prove this.
If you want proof try a book or 2 i love.

DERBY RD. Billerica, MA. Its in the deep woods, an abandoned road. There is an abandoned, old mental hospital and it still has old beds things like that. So creepy, I went with friends and took a tab. You can hear things like whispering... Then We got arrested. But it was all real scary

Here are some of my experiences

here is a strange place i've been to in the state of vermont.

In New Haven Vermont

at Evergreen Cemetary. There is a grave you'll notice ontop of a small mound. you climb the mound and notice that there is something odd with this grave.
There happens to be a window in it.
Why on earth is there a window in a grave?

Well go back in time to 1893. Timothy Clark passed away and was burried there. He was a doctor and a normal man. So why the window? Well he also had a fear of the dark and being burried alive.

So he willed that his grave was to contain a cement tube that went from his casket to above land. and then that there was a window that was placed above the grave so sun could beam down.
Timothy was burried obviously with his head lined with the tube. he also had a bell placed in his hand so he could ring it just in case to create a alarm in which a passing person could hear him and dig him back up.

now i told ya about a strange place i been to.

Now heres my ghost story.

In Stowe Vermont there is the only haunted covered bridge in America.

Emily's Bridge. Located on a back road this bridge has developed quite some tourism

http://www.dreadcentral.com/img/coldspots/084-01.jpg
this innocent looking bridge is normal by day but terrifying at night.
Some locals don't even dare cross it at night.

Why? Whats so harmful about this innocent little covered bridge which are considered to be a wonderful thing of new england.
Well this bridge which also some local historians consider to be the oldest covered bridge in the state of vermont. Dating back to the very early 1800's was located down the street from the home of a young woman named emily. Emily lived according to legend around 1805 or so. She was in love with a young man who lived in town. But her father didn't approve and told her that she could not be with this young man. So the young couple made plans to sneak away in the middle of the night and run away to be together.
The point in which they would meet up was at the covered bridge by emily's house. Emily waited there for the love of her life. And waited... and waited. With no sign of her lover she felt abandoned and heart broken. She grabbed some rope from her home and returned to the bridge to hang her self from the bridge commiting suicide.

Today locals believe though dead.. Emily still remains. Hearing voice's inside the bridge, seeing mysterious lights, coming out with light scratches on their car as if nails were ran across it. Orbs have been seen as well as apritions.

This was something i could not pass up as a opertunity.
I went twice and documented this place personally. First time i came out with nothing.

But the second time...

Well i'll let you be the judge.

Fort Stark: New Castle, NH

An old military fort on the coast. Not far from the Wentworth-by-the-Sea hotel. Park closes at 6:00 PM, so realize the consequences if you're caught there later than that. It's a common delinquent hangout so cops frequent the site often. I recommend parking at the hotel and silently walking there in a small group.

A lot of old ruins and buildings to explore. Very spooky atmosphere. I won't give all my secrets away, but let's just say there's a labryinth of hidden tunnels underneath the fort that lead to some interesting locations that are otherwise inaccessible. Haven't been there in a few years, so I don't know if some areas have been closed off or if others have been opened by "resourceful" explorers.

Some places and things noted in the Weird Mass book

Dover Demon
Massachusetts own legendary mystery creature
spotted obviously in Dover MA back in 1977
http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/strollerderby/2009/04/dover-demon.jpg
drawing of the creature by a eye witness of it

Also mass is home to various stories of big foot, ufo's, sea serpents and more.

One of the most famous Haunted Houses in the state of MA is the Lizzy Borden house. which is located in Fall River
some of you locals may remember the rhyme of
"Lizzie Borden Took An Axe
And Gave Her Mother Forty Whacks
When She saw what she had done
She Gave her Father Forty One"

One of the most popular streets to visit for a midnight scare in MA is Dudley Road in Billerica
Its a small lonely road where people claim to hear screams and crying coming from the woods. Apparitions (if your wondering what this is.. its where you see a ghostly figure) have been seen moving across the road and shadows that move on their own. Most of the activity is supposedly from a supposed abandon insane asylum that was there
But there are many stories attatched to the road and its paranormal activity.

Route 44 right by the Seekonk/Rehoboth town line there is a strange ghostly figure that is known look like a red headed bushy bearded logger complete with jeans and flannel shirt. He can be seen hitchhiking or walking along the street. His mischief includes tailing your car even at high speed, Mysteriously appearing in your car then vanishing again, and jumping out in the middle of the road.

You have abandon asylums like
Worchester State Hospital
the infamous Danvers State Hospital
North Hampton State Hospital
Medfield State Hospital
and
Plunkett State Hospital

and so much more weird and scary stuff.

Come on i know more of you have stories.

Stories that may include looking up at the sky and seeing a bouncing dot of light in the sky at night or streak of light.

Or walking late at night in some small townish area and heard a voice that came from no where.

Or just seen something strange. or got a photo or video where something unexpected appeared in it.

I don't know if this counts but I went 43 hours without sleep and saw Santa Claus flying through the sky on his sleigh. In the middle of June.

actually its funny mention that cause alot of people think things like ufo sightings and big foots sightings and stuff like that are sometimes caused by stuff like insomnia.
Cause as we know when you don't get a certain amount of sleep your brain will actually leave to believe your going crazy. Seeing things and such

Like if your driving along around midnight or later and you had a long day that absorbed your energy and in that state where you feel like you could fall asleep at the wheel any moment. You will believe you will see things appearing on the road or darting across the road. stuff like that.
Such as animals.

I know i've gone in this state before and i feel like i'm seeing deer ready to jump out in the road any second.

Its trippy as hell and in a sense scares you.
But then again if you are in that state i'd advise finding the closest rest area or park n ride and pullin over for a few Z's unless your really close to home

In central maine, i lived there when I was 15-17. with a neighbor I went coonhunting complete with howling dogs.

anyhoo, ghosts are ridiculous. never believed in that stuff. We were hunting at an abandoned farm at night, road grown in some spots. coon dogs of course, I won't say where it is, but it is northern enough maine where not many would even find it. at a farm long since gone, it was one of the most undocumented bridge for slaves going north, never a monument. As it turned out, the owner was a psycho, rapes, death, abuse, and even enslavement..opposite what was assumed. without knowing the story then, I was just there walking in the dark, when coonhunters hunt, we had a plan to split up, but never lose the light of the leader. Well I lost the light, and couldnlt even hear anyone walking anymore.

I started yelling at a light swaying in the trees, I was not with my friends, thought it was my brother signalling me, excpet the light, I would swear was lantern.... the people I was with were elsewhere, and it is pitch black. i then specifically heard the sound of horses, more than one, together...walking quickly, a dirt road....goosebumps, and ignoring the childish fear, I followed the sound to sure enough... a dirt road. The light was gone... Still no friends around, pitch black, and I knew i was going to be ok. the group showed up some time later, that very road...

I missed all the fun. Reality tells me it was two moose, but the lantern, and direction...and knowing to follow it...

and I just gave myself goosebumps speaking of it. the synchronization of it all...damn.

Not to sure on the actual street name, but its at the top of Wellington RD, manchester... There is a side street, unmaintained, that hits a dead end behind a bunch of apt buildings... There is an old rundown shack/shed at the end of the dead end... suposedly haunted... few buddies of mine said they heard voices and "people" walking around the building when they checked it out... brought flashlights and all, looked around, nothing was there besides them...
