Just wondering which aftermarket exhaust sounds best...there doesn't seem to be any real agreement in any threads in different subie-sites??
Either cat-back or just end pipes...what do you'all think???????

I love my borla Hush...Its not meant for my car but it bolts right up and it looks better than anyother exhaust, my opinion

Im not too sure about a Leg, but its all opinion. I love mine, other people love theirs. It depends on what you want for sound and performance. Are you looking for catted or catless? I have turboxs on my car and love the sound, great turbo/WG sound and nice deep tone as well. I know legs are pretty expensive to upgrade too, cause you have to worry about dual outlets and such. Talk to freak, he knows a lot of ****.
I would say Cobb has the best CBE for the LGT.....but Cobb is $$$$$$$$......$1099.
I like my Borla. Its got a nice rumble to it without being obnoxious and it doesnt drone. I got it used locally for a good price.
For the money, I would say go with the new Magnaflow. It can be had for $550, half the price of the Cobb.
I dont like the Megan Racing. It just sounds too raspy.

i've heard the greddy's on a 2.5GTspecB and they sound absolutey awesome, i don't know about interior/cabin noise, but great from the outside, revving, WOT all that
as for Cobb, their product is expensive, but is worth it in my opinion (well i got a nice deal on a full catted turboback for $600 basically brand new for my WRX) but if you can find a deal, they are more expensive for a reason, their stuff is good quality, sounds great, and doesn't drone

I agree with everyone that's said Cobb. As soon as I find the money for the Stg 2 Power Pack for the STi I'm going to order it...
Best of luck!

Best sounding exhaust.. for what?
Stromung, Prodrive, quite tasty.
Love my Brullen, but they went the way of the dodo.

Best sounding exhaust.. for what?
+1... "best sounding" is subjective. A $4 eBay cumquat launcher mated to a rotary sounds like a weedwacker at full RPM in a sewer pipe, but many love the sound.
Find some websites, listen to sample clips, search Google religiously, decide for yourself... no one can tell you what sounds "right" for you.

Just say screw it. Drop by a muffler shop and say make me a straight pipe exhaust. After it is done if you don't like it enough go back and say. Weld in a resonator. Still don't like it. Another resonator. Maybe enen further a muffler canister.

I absolutely love my Cobb TBE. It sounds really clean and not too loud at high RPM. The only disadvantage is I read (and can tell) that it supposedly has the loudest idle sound of any exhaust system tested on the STI. So when I am warming up my car in the driveway, you can hear it throughout the house (hopefully not the neighbors houses). But it's just a deep grumble, and I like the way it sounds.
...not sure how this compares with the Cobb leggy setup

I have a a TurboXS TBE with the standard muffler and love the sound. It doesnt drone at all, has good power gains, and looks hot. I have it with the one high flow cat. Ill post a video if someone would like. ~ok~

Just a quick video of me doing a lap around the garage back area after the VF39 install. Quiet at idle, gets loud at WOT, great sounding exhaust IMO.

Sounds very clean. Here is how you write text link (take out teh underscore):

My vote if for prodrive. Quiet when you need it to be and still sounds REALLY nice when you get on it. It's all rumble too, notting really poppy or gurgily.
