I know they are already. I almost reached my breaking point back in college when I was a Rock County Deputy. I've found a way to laugh at most of the **** now. But days like today when I'm stuck in a room listening to a radio with tons of stupid people talking that don't understand the protocols makes my blood pressure sky-rocket.

I prefer to be face to face with a stupid person, makes it so much easier to insult them in a sarcastic and witty way.

That makes sense... in one case you're dealing with people that WANT help. In your case, you're trying to help people that are too dumb to listen

In emergency and public safety work the people don't necessarily want you there to help, nor do they necessarily want to listen to you while you are speaking to them on a radio or phone. Not only that but typically people in a distress situation are completely out of their minds with panic. You first have to break the barrier of panic to keep them calm just so you can find out what's wrong.

I will never forget my first CS401 class at UNH when windows xp crashed and he said "thats why you buy a mac" and didnt know how to restart it because he was afraid to pull the plug. The class culminated with him reporting me to the dean because he thought i cheated on the final exam because I walked out about 20 minutes into it and got a 100%. I bet 75% of students at UNH know more than their professors when it comes to desktop assistance.

Well that's unfortunate, but probably due to you never working in Emergency Public service.

I did customer service for a major medical company in Manchester that makes those trays for surgery with all those tools to cut you open in them. I was dealing with Doctors in Emergency Rooms not understanding how to open the dam things let alone use them.

Stupid people in Emergency work is completely different. I'll explain sometime when we're in person, it simply can't be explained by typing.
