So I'm going to sell the RS. I want a new car so I gotta get rid of her.

If anyone knows fo anyone looking for an RS to do a swap for doesn't mind rebuilding an engine, please tell them about my car.

The engine either need to be replaced or rebuilt and I really dont have the time to do it.

Plus I've been looking at the new VW Rabbits, and I really want one.

D'oh! I was afraid that'd be what this was about. I'll spread the word around... about how much are you looking for? Parting out at all(I may be interested in mudflaps)?

First Jeff, now you... I guess I can't really say anything, I've never owned a Subaru.

Please get R32, that would be awesome replacement for Subaru.

I might know a few people.

what are you looking to get for it?
and what are the miles on it?

I owe 5900 so that's what I'm asking. And it has 92K.

KBB says that the car is worth 5800 in fair condtion.

the car does need a motor rebuild.. but it is still in pretty good running condition. The only constant upkeep it needs is a about 2 qt. oil a week.

The only major problem with the car is that it has a CEL.. so unless you know someone who can pass the car the only way to fix it is to rebuild of replace the motor.

I would sell that car at a cheaper price, but I can't.

I wish I could afford an R32.. but I can't.. not for a while.

I think I'll stick with a Rabbit.

Why don't you just get another suby? This is pretty upsetting!

Too expensive.

I strongly recommend you reconsider your decision based on what i'm about to tell you.

My sister has a 99 gti with 70kmi, This thing is falling apart at the seams, Its a nightmare to work on/ nothing engineered on these cars makes sense in any way, It breaks every week in someway or another, random lights pop on and go out, Interior is imploding, Just a total piece of **** in general she is trading it in this week for something else.

My dads girlfriend has an 04 Passat w/70kmi, Bought it brand new, Brake lines started leaking at 40k, Oil pump went at 60k, These are the major things wrong with the car, He says new problems are monthly with this car and wishes they never bought it.

I just wanted to give you a heads up, I know you are a mechanic as well as your boyfriend as am I. It got to the point where my sister would ask me to look at/work on the car and i would start making excuses as to why i couldn't! I hate these cars from the bottom of my heart.

Do you know exactly how much it would cost you to buy a 2.2 Turbo motor Haley?

The new Rabbit is nice, but that 2.5 is a pretty underwhelming choice for a base model hatchback. [I would opt for the unavailable TDI].

The car is heavy, gets mediocre fuel economy, and isn't particularly cheap. $16k buys a three-door with nice 16" rims, but the same money buys a brand new Impreza 2.5i sedan right now. That's an easy choice, IMO.

Alright!! So I found a 99 RS motor in CT!!

I'll be paying $600 for the motor and my dad and I are going to pick it up sometime in the next few weeks.. maybe even sooner!

Once the new motor is put in I'm still going to be selling the car but with a new price, hehe!

Woohoo! Glad to hear that you aren't going to get bent over on this one, Haley. You made the right decision.

Get an Accent, Cheap and semi-decently reliable. Of course, they don't have much power and handle like crap but you can't have it all....

Vlad has been preaching the Corolla. Can't really argue with him. Good cars.

Go with another Subie!!! I love my 2.5i :) You might even be able to get a good deal on a legacy like Amy did. If you decide to go Subaru again, go to Patriot and tell them I sent you there :) They're awesome!!

Well my mom said that I could take over the payments on the VW bug. Which is a really nice car. My payment only go up by ~$25 and the loan only has $5400 left.. so I will have that car paid off faster.

I def. want a Subaru.. but they are too much out of my price range right now.. once school is done I want an STi!!

ha. yea the last thing you need is another money pit babe.

not for nothing, subarus are fun cars....but WAY too much money invested for what they can do (ridiculous auto-x car, eagle talon tsi, and it'll run 11's for ~ $1500.)....or drag car....87 foxbody w/ a cam, header-back exhaust, and nitrous. hello high 10's...for a total of like $4k invested.

lesson learned: dont mod your daily driver. want a play car? buy a play car. bumming rides/cars for 3+ months blows.

at this point, im getting a truck. by next year (havent made my decision 100% yet), i'll either have a new dirtbike (prolly a CRF250F), or putting a down payment on a harley.

getting rid of my scoob is the smartest thing i can do right now. the tacoma's monthly payments are going down like $50-60/mo., and my insurance is dropping OVER $1500/yr. and it gets better gas mileage (lol, sad but true).

i'll still be around for meets. i like most of you guys/gals. besides ya need a tow vehicle for when ya break stuff big like i did.

Okay so time for another update:

I should hopefully be getting the "new" motor on Wednesday.. if that happens I might pull the motor on Tuesday and de ready to have the "new" motor all ready to drop in.

And I've also been thinking about keeping my car. I really really don't want to drive a FWD car in the winter.. I've done it for two winters.. and it SUCKS! Plus I really like my car.. and and I don't wan to see it go.. not after everything I've gone though.. it was like a very long bonding time.. haha!

FWD is decent with the right snow tires, but not nearly as fun as a GC with snows.:) Glad to see you're passing on the VW NB.

+1 on the FWD with snows. That's plenty for around here.

I did not like driving the VW in the winter at all... I actually almost crashed a few times.. even when drving slowly.

I don't think I'll ever drive a FWD again.. after the experiences I've had.

Its not like it matters but i approve of your decision! car payments suck and your little impreza is awesome.

PS: My sister Samantha is now the proud owner of a Black 2007 2.5i wagon ~ok~
