Whoah! This is a surprise. I've been busy moving and had little time to check in here but this is a nice way to start my new year with regards to automobiles. Thanks to everyone - whether they voted for me or not - as I gathered it was a tight race.

Cheers guys.

Gerald.

any future plans?

I've been toying at the idea of going twin-scroll with a larger GT30R and doing a bit of suspension tweaking. The former will most likely have to wait a while but I'll probably make some geometry changes to my suspension when the weather gets a bit warmer. I don't think I will have as much time to keep tinkering with my car as I used to anymore unfortunately :( Other than that, I really don't know what else to do to it! I'll take suggestions though.

If you're too busy I can take it off your hands for a while, just sayin.

Oh yeah, I might paint the IC core black as a few people have suggested. While I don't like the idea of making it a heat sink due to the color, and reduce thermal conductivity due to the additional layer of paint (insulator), I think I prefer black over the silver color.

I am also looking to make my own front bumper beam using tubular steel or aluminum since the IC core deletes the stock one.

Might change the coilovers to Stance or Cusco units with lower spring rates. Will probably inspect all my ball joints and possibly replace the tie-rod ends with a roll-center-adjustment varietal. I think my rear diff seals are going too. If so, that'll be a weekend project along with the timing belt and fluids.

no way

Mount the tank in the trunk, run the tubes/wires to the intercooler and switch.

Yeah, if I was going to do it, that'll be the way I would do it. I've got to figure out a paint that is not prone to chip too. Problem is, they tend to be polymeric in nature (for elasticity) and hence, are very good thermal insulators. That's where anodization would be nice but if I am going to spend that kind of money and time, I'd rather spend it elsewhere on the car; like a new paint job.

updates?

gling
11-12-2010, 06:52 PM
Sorry for the late reply and lack of updates. The reason is simple; I've not done much to the car since the last update. I've only added some new summer wheels (18x9.5 Rota G-Forces) and replaced my coilovers for new units. I've been way too busy with work and life in general to tinker with the car for most parts.

On another note, the car may be coming back to the east coast depending on whether I get a job offer back in good ole' Massachusetts. Even then, I doubt I'll do much more to the car, as I foresee myself being very busy with the job. That and there really isn't much more I plan to do with the car. It's fun, it's reliable, and it runs.

I just accepted the job in Northboro, MA so I'll be back east in January! The job pays pretty well so I may give the car some much needed love. A new paint job may be in the works and it also needs a good detailing come spring. Ohio throws salt on the road like it's going out of fashion. I might finally spring for the twin scroll GT30R kit as well but time will tell, as I foresee being very busy with work and not having a place with a garage to do things myself.

Here's a couple of photos of the car with the new summer wheels:

And this is the current tag on it:
