Default 2005-2008 Outbacks now in the Takata recall

If you've got a third gen Outback, congratulations! You've been Takata'd! Your passenger air bag could be full of buckshot. I got the recall notice a couple days before Christmas (the Carfax app is awesome) and made my reservation for last Monday to have it fixed. Turns out the replacement part isn't out yet and probably won't be for another month or so. Sweet.

This applies to the 2005-2008 Legacy as well.

Ya, I saw this too. Some searching found that some dealers where removing the dash to do the repair and taking 5 hours.

I would like to see the full recall steps to see exactly what they need to remove. I saw them for the GDs and it wasn't bad.

I can see its listed as taking 1.75 hours. Not sure the dash can be removed and reinstalled in that time.

Our 05 LGT has the JDM HVAC/radio surround, gauges and an aftermarket alarm. So, I really don't want a dum dealer messing around with removing the dash.
