So the story is I hit 2nd pretty hard and got nothing. Tried again and still got nothing in 2nd & 4th. When I got it home I tried reverse and nothing. Took the tranny out and apart with the assumption it was something in the internals. Didnt find anything put it all back together and after lutting it back in went to shift and it the double adjustable cobb short shifter moved. Turns out the original problem was the cobb slipped to the shortest it could go and the throw was to ahort to grab the back gears. Sooo all work for nothing.

After putting everything back together drove a short distance everything sounded fine. Went to go out again and started hearing a whine. It wasnt to loud and thought with the new group n tranny mount there was just more noise. It got louder as I drove and when I pulled up to a stop sign started slowing down and there was a clicking sound almost like a gear wasnt fully disengaged. I started off and whine was super loud almost like the car was in reverse but going forward sound but Icould get into 1-4 when I tried 5th it would go in but with a crunch. The noise was constant in every gear. So got it home and thats where I am at. My assumption is that 5th is stuck.

Well I wouldnt say sorted. When I put the gear cluster back in, the front bearing the goes between the 2 halves of the trans was not seated correctly. There is a pin in the half and a small hole in the bearing that the pin is supposed to fit into. I did not get the pin in the whole or it shifted putting the halves together. This made the gear cluster shift after driving a short period of time. The noise was from the front diff and the pinion not being seated properly. No damage to the front diff luckily.

The damage is where the pin was pressed against the bearing. The stress made the bearing crack which means the entire cluster needs to come apart to replace. Also the pin that seats the bearing got jammed into the case. I have not successfully gotten the pin out after trying a few things, so I am hoping i can come up with a few other options so it can be replaced. Otherwise I am not sure what I would have to do other than replacing the whole trans unless I can find an empty case. That is where it sits.

I brought both the cluster and the case half to the machine shop yesterday and they felt very optimistic about getting the pin out. They also said they should be able to replace the bearing. I will know Monday or Tuesday.
