Default NO MORE SEATBELT DING DING DING DING DAMNIT!

Well, according to the service guy at two different dealerships you can't stop the seatbelt warning chime in the 08s and 09s. Well, I had a feeling they were full of shit so I have been looking around. I tried the 06/07 method and it didn't work for me, other people had some success but it wouldn't work for me.

So I was talking with a guy who has a 2009 STI and he was able to get it to work, I followed his process and it worked! No more DING DING DING.

    1. Get in car and shut door.
    2. Pull some slack in the belt to prep it for buckling.
    3. Turn the key to ACC and within 30 seconds completely latch and unlatch the belt 30 times. (Don't hold the latch button down, completely latch and unlatch. Some had success holding the button down but I didn't).
    4. Turn the car off.
    5. Start the car, no more ding!

From what I have read you need to do this whenever the battery is disconnected though.

    Hope someone finds this useful!

    Best,

    Eric

I thought the 06/07 was pretty much the same... but 20 times.

That's what I did on mine.

And yes, you have to redo it when the battery is disconnected.

20 times makes it so it doesnt ding constantly but it still dings 6 times before shutting off. 30 times made it stop completely for me.

I see... mine doesn't ding at all that I remember... Light never comes on either.

Of course it is stuck at the dealership till god knows when, and I will have to redo it when I get it back anyway.

I figured out and easier way; I buckle the belt before I start the car But I guess you can go a bit faster without the drag caused by the belt..

In NH you dont have to wear it, So its fine

Idk, IMO people who don't wear them take unnecessary risks.
